CBSE REQUIREMENTS
ASSESSMENT METHOD
PRIMARY SCHOOL ( Grades I TO IV)
In order to compete with the surrounding world children are prepared from childhood. Primary Education is not just about learning to read but more so about learning how to think. It is learning to make good choices and learning to act with purpose. There will be a continuous comprehensive process for classes I to IV. This will include a) Written Tests, b) Internal Assessment. The whole academic year is divided into two terms and the students will be receiving the report cards for all the two terms. The assessments are conducted for three months and the marks scored are consolidated at the end of each term. The Co-scholastic subjects are like dance, music, Sports & Games etc are assessed every term.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ( GRADES V TO VIII)
Keeping in view of CBSE Uniform system of Assessment the session will be spread to two terms.
Scholastic Area: The Assessment structure and examination for classes V to VIII comprise of two terms. The term I is June to September and Term II is October to February. The term I is for 100 Marks which consists of 10 marks for Periodic Assessment, 5marks for Subject Enrichment Activity (SEA) and 5 marks for class work and homework submission. The remaining 80 Marks are for Midterm Examination. The term II is for 100 Marks which consists of 10 marks for Periodic Assessment, 5marks for Subject Enrichment Activity (SEA) and 5 marks for class work and homework submission. The remaining 80 Marks are for final term Examination.
Subject Enrichment Activity (SEA): These are subject specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities will be carried out throughout the term and evaluated at the end of the term. The languages are aimed at equipping the learners to develop skills, In Mathematics the activities which are designed by the CBSE board are to be followed. In science, it is the practical work and activities designed by the NCERT are to be done and in Social Science the Project work or Map work to be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT.
Co-Scholastic Activities: For the holistic development of the student the Co Scholastic activities are to carried out in subjects like Work Education ( Skill-based activities which are useful to the community), Art Education (Visual & Performing Art) , Health & Physical Education (Sports, Martial Art, Yoga) and Discipline ( The students will also be assessed for the discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, tidiness, respectfulness for rules & regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others) and graded term wise on 3 point scale. A= Outstanding, B= Very Good and C= Fair).
SECONDARY SCHOOL (GRADES IX AND X)
For Secondary School the Term I is from March to October and term II is from October to February. They follow the year wise scheme the syllabus for the mid term tests are the portions they complete up to September and for the final term it is the full syllabus. The Assessment procedure is the same as we follow for the middle school. Only at the year-end, the students will be receiving the report cards and Co-Scholastic activities are also grade in the same pattern of middle school.
